How to get a Government Job in India?

Yearning for a better future, everyone dreams of a government job. Thought the private sector offers huge chunks of money, they couldn’t compete with the public sector in terms of job security and other creamy benefits like pensions, retirement benefits, provident fund, health care facilities etc. So its no mystery that the government job searches remain the highest priority of the unemployed throughout the country and it’s no wonder it’s going to get hotter in 2012.

But getting a government job is never easy, it has never been and with the growing number of unemployed and stiff competition it’s going to be really tough. Surprisingly, but as for the facts, most of the government jobs exist in the north. Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and a number of northern states seem to be the hotspots for growing government jobs. There are relatively few vacancies in other regions of India. The reason is that most of the northern part of India has the best infrastructure and other natural resources. No matter what the statistics show in 2012 there are thousands and thousands of government jobs all across the country.

Millions of jobs are required to maintain the current unemployment rate and the government seems to be all set and prepared to provide as much jobs as it can in the various sectors. Starting from the undergraduates to the highly qualified there is a large range of jobs for all the unemployed and as well as for the underemployed who want to switch to the public sector. The defense sector is there with a large range of jobs from technical to non-technical, there are the finance and banking sector and recently the up thrust for the ‘Unique ID’ for all the citizens of India is likely to create a huge number of job vacancies. There’s a huge demand for Electrical and civil engineers and then there are jobs for the less qualified in the MNEREGA and other important government projects, which are to be extended to a larger part of India in the coming 2012.

Leaving the technical things and being practical, the government job aspirants should cross their fingers and be prepared, there is competition and it’s for everyone. Firstly, the aspirants must be up to speed with the latest affairs and news related to the job vacancies; they should regularly read the Employment news and search through the various government and job websites for the upcoming vacancies and exams. It’s a world of hi-tech communication and no one must remain ignorant.

Secondly, the aspirants should be well prepared in their respective fields of exams and read intensively the latest stuff and try out the previous year’s questions. A group hangout for study and talk in these matters are really helpful for the perspective of exam and as well as to build one’s knowledge and boost self-confidence. Group study could increase one’s reasoning power and speed up time to solve questions. It’s generally seen in the defense exams for which a lack of practice could end up in the failure of physical tests (Mainly the run and pushups) even though they are healthy. The candidates should not wait till the end; they should be fully prepared beforehand.

Most of the candidates lose hope when they couldn’t qualify for the exams in their first attempt. This misconception should be avoided and everyone should be confident and keep trying because there are lots of job vacancies in a particular field we opt for and the more we try and sit for the exams the better our chances for selection. Sitting for a particular type of exam more than once makes us familiar with the stuff (the pattern and type of question) and the chances of success in the subsequent exams increases.

The candidates who feel too tensed or confused regarding the government exams or are short of information, they should feel free to join consultancy services and crash courses offered by various recognized institutes, which could relieve a lot of burden and at the same time provide useful knowledge and knowledge to crack the exam and get through the interview easily.

For those who think that 2012 might be the doom’s day should sleep peacefully; and for those who dream of a marvelous future beyond 2012, should work hard and be prepared as 2012 is going to bring a lot of job opportunities with it and who knows whose efforts will shower the fruits of success.

d) Clinical Microbiology/Tuberculosis Research: Applicant(s) should be well versed with modern molecular biology and have working experience in clinical microbiology, studying host-pathogen interactions in the context of tuberculosis with a commitment to manage BSL-3 facility at IIIM.

e) Biological/Pharmacological Sciences: Applicant(s) should have a demonstrated record of significant accomplishment in the field of drug discovery and development / Pharmacokinetics and prior experience in systematic bio-evaluation and studies on molecular mechanism of action of lead compounds in the area of cancer and inflammation will be preferred
